Ben Schreckinger is an independent journalist. Most recently, he was a national political correspondent at Politico and the author of The Bidens, an investigative and biographical examination of the former First Family. Before that, he helped launch the Digital Future Daily tech policy newsletter, served as GQ's Washington correspondent, worked as a staff writer at Politico Magazine and covered the rise of Donald Trump as a campaign reporter.
He has also written on politics, economics, culture and their intersections for Slate, Newsweek, the Atlantic, the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, and the Financial Times. His reporting has taken him to most U.S. states, as well as to Greenland, Burma, the UAE, El Salvador and beyond.
Ben has been a guest on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, C-SPAN, NPR, Al Jazeera, the BBC and Democracy Now!, among many others.
He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, where he studied classics, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and served as editor-in-chief and president of the Brown Daily Herald Inc. He won the 2021 National Headliner Award for Best Magazine Column and the 2011 Robert Novak Collegiate Journalism Award.
