Ben Schreckinger covers national politics for Politico. In 2014, he lived in Boston and wrote on politics, economics, culture and their intersections for Slate, Newsweek, Politico Magazine, the Atlantic (digital), the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, and the Financial Times, among others. In 2013, he reported from Myanmar's Burma Road and from Ireland. Before that, he covered politics and policy from Washington as an Atlantic Media Fellow with National Journal. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, where he studied classics, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and served as editor-in-chief and president of the Brown Daily Herald Inc. He was the recipient of the 2011 Robert Novak Collegiate Journalism Award for his coverage of a sealed federal lawsuit in Rhode Island.
